Hi! My name is Nick and I'm the Head Coach here at CrossFit Minnetonka.
I was a high school and college athlete - played lots of sports and never really had to worry about what I ate.
I started my first job in my early 20's and was sitting at a desk pretty much all day. I slowly started seeing the weight creep on. I knew if I didn't tackle the problem now it would only get harder later on.
I found my love of sport again in something completely new - functional fitness. In fact I loved it so much I gave up my corporate desk job to re-qualify as a fitness coach.
I get so much gratification from helping people achieve things they never thought possible and I'd love the opportunity to help you!

Our process begins with a completely free, NO sales pitch "No Sweat Intro". It's a chance to introduce ourselves and you get to ask as many questions as you'd like.

The number one reason results aren't achieved is nutrition. Over 80% of how we look is down to diet. We can work out for hours a day but if your nutrition isn't good - you may not see results. We've tried every diet, fad and gimmicks. Common mistakes people make are too little calories or not the correct foods in your diet. At CrossFit Minnetonka we focus on nutrient dense foods and teach how to eat a balanced and unrestricted diet so you can do this for the rest of your healthy life.
Life has too many obstacles, and before habits are formed it's too easy to "forget" or "slip up". We partner you with a Client Success Manager (CSM) that's suited to you and your goals who you have direct access to and will work with 1-1. You will be speaking with your (CSM) monthly.
On top of your direct coach communication, you will also have access to a supportive Facebook group and community.

The goal of Functional Fitness is to make it easier and safer to perform everyday activities, such as carrying groceries or playing a game of basketball with your kids.
I've tried my fair share of personal trainers, gyms and ready made programs.
I've spent years trying to come up with my own workouts, trying different diets, starting and stopping every now and then. It was always just something I had to do instead of something I wanted to do.
My last straw was an LA Fitness membership that last 6 months which I used about twice.
I've hard about CrossFit for a while as I have a physician friend who always talks about how great it is. So I decided to do the 3 month intro package and never looked back. I go consistently 5 times per week without even thinking - I go because I love it! I have friends that I see every day and an amazing coach!

The next stage of the process is to go straight ahead and book a "No Sweat Intro" (NSI). The NSI lasts 30 minutes and is a chance for you and our head coach to meet, introduce and start building up some goals. We'll go over a health assessment, previous history and how our program can help you achieve your goals.

I love being coached. I'e had a lot of coaches in the past, but the guys at CrossFit Minnetonka are some of the best. They've been able to push me in so many different aspects of my fitness to a point where I'm fitter now I'm 45 than when I was 25.
Outside of the fitness itself is the most incredible community. Whether it's support to finish a workout or helping carry my shed up my driveway - there's always someone who is there for you.

We do want people that are serious about achieving their goals tho, so we want you to be prepared to answer some tough questions so we can get to the bottom of your motives.
Our coaches can do everything in their power to help you achieve your goals, but you need to want it. We can be there when you want to slip up - and we'll tell you it's ok to cheat. But we'll make sure you get right back on board.
We'll talk about your nutrition and workouts and even if you don't decide to work with us, I hope you come away with learning something to implement.

Q: How long will it take me to lose 20lbs?
A: You should be able to lose 1lb safely and consistently per week depending on your build. This allows us to work with you on building god habits vs extreme dieting.
Q: Is CrossFit for me?
A: If you need trusted and accountable coaches to cut through all the confusion and get you results fast, while teaching you skills so that you keep hold of your hard work for life – CrossFit could be for you.
Q: Do I need to be fit before I join?
A: No! We work with people of all ages and capabilities. As long as you;re motivated we can help!
Q: Will I injure myself?
A: When you first start your program you will go through an on-boarding process which will define if it is safe for you to go straight into classes. We have options for further training if we don't feel it's safe.
