     "I joined CF Minnetonka (somewhat on a whim) after seeing and hearing positive feedback from my friends and trying a class for the first time. Something that really stuck with me was how welcoming all of the members were. On my first day, everyone introduced themselves and even made a point to shake my hand. I never felt like an outsider. After playing softball in college and being involved in sports throughout my life, I knew that I needed to get back into the sort of team environment that I thrive in. CrossFit was the answer for me. It helped me turn around some key pieces of my life that were on the brink of spiraling out of control.

   

     The workouts are quite challenging, but doing them with friends makes them so much more enjoyable. It's an hour out of my day that I actually look forward to, even though it can be torturous at times. CrossFit also pushed me to change my lifestyle and make better nutrition choices to ensure that my body could recover properly and be refueled for the next day. Life is all about balance and CrossFit helped restore mine. I'm grateful for the friends I've made throughout this journey and am optimistic about continuing to make progress towards reaching my goals. I still have a long way to go, but I know I'll have plenty of help along the way. I don't think I'll ever be a fan of snatches, thrusters, or burpees, but that won't stop me from trying!"

     "I first tried CrossFit back in 2014 doing a 6 week bootcamp class at a large, well-known gym in Minneapolis. It wasn’t a very good experience. While I felt like I was falling in love with the concept of CrossFit, I was definitely not falling in love with the gym or my experience. The gym and the program were disorganized and the atmosphere wasn’t friendly or inviting and they were known for a very high turnover rate. After 6 weeks we never picked up a barbell or practiced any of the key moves CrossFit is known for. I also never paid for the boot camp because the gym manager never bothered to return my phone calls or emails and non of the coaches could walk me through the actual sign up process. I quit as soon as the 6 weeks were up.

     

     When a friend told me about the 6 week boot camp challenge at CrossFit Minnetonka, I was ready to give CrossFit another chance and I’m really glad I did! I immediately felt different when I entered the gym. Coaches and other athletes came up to introduce themselves, the 6 week program was organized with scheduling, meal prepping tips, weekly check-ins, and lots of great instruction about form and lifting. It provided all the tools necessary to succeed! After 6 weeks, I was hooked! I decided to continue and start with the regular classes which felt intimidating all over again, but the coaches were great at providing scaleable options and all the other athletes were really encouraging and motivating. After 4 months of CrossFit, I am down 40lbs and two pant sizes, but what I have gained here at the gym has actually been much more valuable-confidence, a new found appreciation and respect for myself and my body, and an awesome group of people who keep motivating and driving me to be better every day!"

I love this place. I joined a few months ago... I was intimidated and nervous but the guys here made me feel at ease. With each workout they provide multiple ways to approach it (scale it) that keep you safe and in-check. The members and owners here soon become what feels like family and they will encourage and push you to your full potential.

 I did a lot of research about the CF boxes in my area and decided to give CF Minnetonka a try. I have never looked back. I felt so welcome the moment I walked in the door. The coaches are amazing (and in fact, I have never been able to do rope climbs before as I was never taught the technique) and I love the community. Give CF Minnetonka a try if you are new to CF or are looking for a new gym! You will not be disappointed.

The coaches are great! They do a fantastic job of making sure that you are using proper form with the more complicated lifts. They make classes fun so that you can perform all of the movements, regardless of current ability!

I was freaked out to try CrossFit, but was dragged in by a friend. Now I am obsessed with it. Not only do I like the workout, I love the coaches and the community. I've never once felt like I didn't fit in at CF Minnetonka. Everyone is awesome and I highly recommend it. You won't regret it, because everyone is focused on make you a better you!

     "I started CrossFit two and a half years ago, wanting to just to try something new. I figured I'd try it for a few months then give it up like the other "gyms" I had been to. After going through foundations, I thought, cool, they actually care about my form instead of just throwing me into a class to figure it out myself. My first class was a one mile run followed by 50 pull ups and it ended with 50 push ups. I used a band for pull ups and by the end, I was doing push ups on my knees. As I was finishing up my push ups, everyone was cheering me on and a few members were doing push ups with me! After that first class I knew I was going to like CrossFit.

     

     Fast forward to today, I now have my Level 2 and have the opportunity to coach our athletes here at CrossFit Minnetonka. The best part about coaching is watching the progress of our athletes and celebrating their PR's with them. I love our community and the CrossFit community as a whole.

     

     A few pieces of advice: for people who are skeptical, give it a shot! What do you have to lose? If you don't like us, you're not out anything but an hour of your time. If you do like it, great, see you for tomorrow's workout! For our current members, keep going! You're not going to be able to do everything right away, but keep practicing and you'll get better at it. Stay after class 10 minutes and work on your goals. Lastly, come in and give us your best! When you're on the ground after a workout and you can honestly say that you gave it everything you've got, as a coach, that's the type of effort we all love to see in our athletes!"
